NU Night at the Art Institute of Chicago

Explore the renowned Van Gogh’s Bedrooms exhibit and the rest of the Art Institute of Chicago with your fellow Wildcats at the Northwestern Night at the Art Institute. The bedrooms exhibit hosts 36 works by the artist, showcasing the role of the bedroom in what the Art Institute describes as “his relentless quest for home.”

The Van Gogh exhibit closes May 10, so don’t miss out – it’s the first time Van Gogh’s three bedroom paintings have been together in North America. Curators have said the three bedroom canvases may never be together again because of how rare it is for a museum to loan out part of their Van Gogh collection.

Northwestern’s Student Organizations & Activities offer complimentary round-trip charter bus transportation from Evanston to the free event, where students, faculty and staff show their Wildcard in exchange for tickets for themselves and any guests. Check in at the Modern Wing entrance on Monroe Street.

The Art Institute recently received recognition from Trip Advisor as the #1 museum in the world. After indulging in plenty of Van Gogh, check out the incredible permanent collection if you have yet to explore the Art Institute’s depths. For frequent visitors who have taken advantage of the Northwestern partnership granting free entry with your Wildcard, stroll around The New Contemporary’s iconic Warhols, influential abstract photographs and other current exhibitions.

After docent-led tours of the Asian collection, enjoy special discounts in the museum shops and cafés with a Wildcard. Join the Northwestern community for this unique opportunity from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 5.
